Rebuilding After Sandy: Relief Concert November 15th

Our "Fun Night Out" has become more important than ever - as the funds raised will be used for Hurricane Sandy relief for our neighbors and community, on both sides of the Williamsburg Bridge who have been affected by the storm.

When our Board Member, Ken Liebman, came to us with the idea to do a concert to benefit Grand St. Settlement, the idea was simple, a “fun night out" to support all that the Settlement does for our community.

In the past two weeks, our simple night out became much more: it became a relief concert for our neighbors whose lives were devastated by Hurricane Sandy.

When disasters occur, low-income families are hardest hit and our communities, in Brooklyn and the Lower East Side, have been hit severely. Many of our community’s seniors were in the dark for five days, and then an additional six days without heat and hot water.

The outpouring of support has been incredible, from elected officials, to our many partners from private schools, congregations, and others - together with members of the Grand St. Settlement staff they have been working tirelessly distributing blankets, warm clothing, fresh meals, food and water on both the Lower East Side and Brooklyn. We could not have done all this without the support of you – our extended family.
