Located at 168 Broome St. in Essex Crossing, the Best Buy Teen Tech Center is an interactive makerspace featuring 3D printers, filmmaking equipment, tech stations, and a state of the art recording studio. Our programming is designed for youth ages 13-18 interested in pursuing their passion projects. We provide the resources and workshops to turn those projects into tangible outcomes and future careers.
Osh Noam has spent the better half of a decade in youth development at Grand Street Settlement. In his current role as Teen Tech Center Director of the Best Buy Teen Tech Center, he’s using his interdisciplinary background in engineering, filmmaking, and integrated digital media to build a program with a driving focus of creativity and exploratory learning.
When youth open the doors of the Teen Tech Center, Osh and his team work create an environment where possibilities are endless. Their maker space invites curiosity, challenges doubt, and rewards those brave enough to make their dreams a reality
Xavier Bedward began his career as a Child Care Counselor at a 24/7 residential facility for young men. He worked as a group specialist for teens during his tenure at the residential facility. After receiving his Masters in Social Work from Rutgers University, he transitioned to New York to work as a Social Worker for Henry Street Settlement’s Youth Opportunity Hub.
It was in that role, that Xavier found his way into youth services with Grand Street Settlement as a Consultant for Project Speak Out Loud. This opportunity provided him with the experience needed to become the Teen Tech Coordinator for the Best Buy Teen Tech Center.
As the TTC Coordinator, Xavier uses his skills in trauma-informed care to help facilitate hope, belief in self, and foster a desire within young people to create. His work empowers youth to challenge the present and shape the future.
