Clovis Thorn

Prior to joining Grand St. Settlement, Clovis was the Managing Director of Development at Drug Policy Alliance, a $15M national nonprofit organization. He raised funds to reform drug policies in New York and around the world by creating unique membership and major donor programs over the course of his 15-year tenure. Originally from New Mexico, where he graduated from the University of New Mexico, Clovis loves New York’s vibrant neighborhoods. He plans to bring his storytelling experience to bear on Grand St. Settlement’s history, both in the L.E.S. and throughout Brooklyn. Clovis lives in Queens with his partner and their cats. He is a board member of Gotham Volleyball, New York’s LGBTQIA+ volleyball league, an avid Mets fan, and a frustrated mineralogist who misses the easy rock collecting of the high deserts of the West. As a member of Grand St. Settlement’s executive team, Clovis will lead the organization’s fundraising strategy, implementation of its three year Strategic Plan, Centennial campaign, and advocacy initiatives serving 10,000 New Yorkers.
