I grew up in the Lower East Side and have worked here since 1989 – that’s 26 years! I saw our main community center at 80 Pitt Street being built, and I think it is one of the best parts of the neighborhood. As a child, I participated in Grand St. Settlement’s summer camp, and my niece participated in the youth programs here as well. I really feel like they make a difference in the lives of young people in our city.
